The KSS 50 saw is not just a portable saw; it is also a multifunctional cross-cutting system. This is because it has a sharp circular saw and a sharp guide rail. With the Mafell KSS 50 cross-cutting system, you won't need a Sliding Compound Mitre Saw as much, especially when you're working on-site. With the Mafell cross-cutting system, you can cut workpieces while standing and without holding them up. Die-cast magnesium parts are used by Mafell to make their tools lighter. KSS 50 only weighs 5.2kg, so it can be used for long periods of time without making your muscles tired. As a package, the saw comes with a 700mm cross-cutting rail. The rail is easy to take off if you need to. Using a quick-release catch, you could do that. KSS 50 saw can then be used as a separate, portable unit with all of the features of the Mafell KSP series. The guide track is 700mm long, but when the full cutting depth is used, the most you can cut is 400mm. After each cut, the saw goes back to where it started on its own. Since the saw's pivot point is in line with the splinterguard, you only need one mark no matter what angle you set. The cross-cut rail has a very accurate scale, so you can use the saw to make cuts at angles from 0 to 60 degrees in each direction. The KSS 50 has a 168mm blade, so the maximum cutting depth at 90° is 55mm without the track and 49.5mm with the track. At 45°, the saw can make cuts that are 38mm deep.
