Mafell Specialist made the dust bag, and you can use the saw without a dust extractor if you want to. Mafell MT55cc is a very impressive piece of equipment that has been mastered to perfection and is both accurate and strong. The Mafell MT55cc comes in the same T-Max Systainer as Festool, so it is compatible with all T-Loc systems from Festool and Mirka. The Mafell plunge cut saw can be used with Makita, Festool, and Bosch guide rails as well as Mafell rails. Other brands only offer a tilt range of +45 to 0 degrees plus 1 degree undercut, but Mafell gives you a range of +48 to -1 degrees. Joints at 90 degrees are standard because they make a nice glue pocket. The MT55cc can cut to a depth of 57 mm, while its competitors can only cut to a depth of 55 mm. There's a reason for it: when the saw is on the rail, it can still cut up to 51mm deep, which is enough to cut 2" wood. That's not something you can do with a Festool or Makita saw, right?
A positive stop (every 1mm on the front of the saw) with a fine adjuster on the grub screw is also a very useful feature. By turning the depth indicator, you can choose to cut on or off the rail. When you use your saw on the guide rail, the cut line will be the edge of the rail, which makes it easy to see. When you cut the piece without using the guide rail and tilt the saw, problems usually start. Most of the time, you can't tell where the blade goes. Not with the Mafell MT55. There is a special line indicator on the front of the saw base that moves with the blade when you tilt the saw. This way, you always know where the cut line is. For your convenience, Mafell made a whole new way to switch out blades.
When you push one button and lift the lever on the handle of the saw, the blade housing falls down. Spindle up works automatically, and the switch is turned off to keep you safe. If you're wondering why the blade is completely covered, the answer is simple: it helps keep dust out. Now, the only way the dust can get out is through the space between the rails. There's a way to fix that, too: just push the splinter guard down, and you're done. The scoring function on the Mafell MT55CC can be quickly turned on with a single movement. It can also cut visible edges just as well as a stationary machine. Even when the splinter guard is on, this can be done. The Mafell MT55CC can make clean cuts with great accuracy and no tearing.
