The Mafell KSS 300 is a very special saw because it combines the functions of five different saws into one small unit. It is a mitre saw, a compound mitre saw, a plunge saw, a panel saw, and a rip cut saw. The saw only weighs 3.2kg, which is a small fraction of the weight of a regular saw. In the KSS 300 saw, the blade turns around the edge of the track. This means that your cut line is always along the edge of the guide rail, no matter what angle you set. Using the angle stop on the side of the track, you can change and set the cutting line. This means you don't have to mark the line with a pencil and then follow it through the cut. The Mafell KSS 300 saw is great for cutting trenches because you can control the depth of cut with one lever and lock it in place so that every cut is the same depth.
